Protecting the environment, our team and our guests is a top priority for the PortBlue Hotel Group, which is why we have brought together all our sustainability activities under the BlueMovement concept.
BlueMovement is based around four key areas: health and safety, quality (our customer, our priority), environmental sustainability and social commitment. Below we explain how we aim to achieve our objectives in each of these areas through our daily work.
Health and safety
The health of our guests and employees has always been a priority, but has taken on even greater importance since the pandemic. For example, our PortBlue Club Pollentia Resort & Spa has earned the Safe Tourism certification after the implementation of a risk prevention system to combat Covid19.
We also have control procedures and external audits of our food hygiene and water safety thanks to our Health & Safety Programme.
And given that our team is our most valuable asset, there is also a permanent planning process and monitoring in terms of Occupational Risk Prevention.
Quality: our customer, our priority
Exceeding our quality standards is one of our company’s top priorities, as shown by the numerous quality certifications achieved by our hotels. Our team members receive constant training based on a permanent analysis of their needs to ensure they have all the professional skills required at all times.
The opinion of our guests is also of the utmost importance, which is why we always follow up on their feedback to continue to meet their expectations, and then a little more!

Environmental sustainability
Nature is our greatest resource, and we are very much aware that we all have to take the greatest care of it through a wide range of different actions. With regard to water management, we have an environmentally friendly process for changing towels and sheets, in which we ask guests to “Tell us when you want, and we’ll change them…” in order to help save water.
We also have “Constant Flow Regulator” devices in all our taps to optimise water use and guest comfort. In addition, we are reusing purified waste water to water our gardens, which are also planted with local plants to minimise their impact. To reduce our carbon footprint we have prioritised greater energy efficiency, which is why we have installed advanced geothermal systems, automated our facilities, and always buy appliances and electronic equipment taking into account their energy-efficiency rating, among other measures.
Waste management is also a key concern in all our hotels. Recycling in our hotels can be seen in all of their different areas, involving both our staff and our customers. We keep a record of all the waste we generate for each different type of waste, providing data we can use to analyse any increases in waste and then take the appropriate measures to correct the situation.
We are committed to local and seasonal products, not only to support the circular economy but also to give our guests an authentic and different kind of experience. And this is not only in relation to our food service, but also in other areas of the hotels, such as for example having replaced all single-use amenities with dispensers.
Social commitment
As well as permanently supporting local businesses, we also work with local artists to help them exhibit and sell their works at PortBlue hotels, plus partnership agreements with local artisans to display and sale their hand-made products.
Our corporate policies are also designed to promote equal opportunity, a positive work environment and a strong team spirit. We also do all we can to support the personal and professional development of our team.
We also have a partnership agreement with the Balearic Ministry of the Environment to help conserve the Albufereta Nature Reserve and promote its natural values. And given that every little helps, we also contribute with association and NGOs in different ways.
